We know that not every child in Avon has a chance to experience the excitement of school shopping because of their family’s financial situation. This year will be our 4th Annual Supply it Forward. Children with financial need will have the opportunity to come in and pick out a back pack and then go through a specific aisle just for their class and pick out the supplies they want. That ensures the kids who want the pink highlighters and not the yellow ones!

There is no doubt that Avon is blessed to have some of the best educators in the state. We know that many have big dreams for their classroom. Those dreams also come with the need for additional funds. Each year AEF gives teachers the opportuity to apply for grants for their classroom. AEF provides up to $30,000 per year. In the last year we funded multiple projects to help calm students who were very upset, dry erase boards that allowed students to work in groups, and library books in a variety of languages.

Each of us have skills that can have a big impact through AEF. Are you great at organizing, shopping, project management, or lifting heavy boxes? These are just a snapshot of the skills we need every day. We are also looking to expand our Board of Directors.
