Crystal Bolden
President
Board Member Since 2018
Crystal Bolden has served over a decade with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in various capacity. She is married to Raphael Bolden and together they have three children, River, Rion and Rielle, all current ASCS students.
Crystal has made philanthropy her life’s mission and she can always be found giving back to several charities and volunteering within the community. Crystal’s passion is being a voice for the voiceless and ensuring equality for today’s youth. She believes her purpose is to serve others and lead by example.
Brianna Moss

Brianna Moss has been a resident of Avon for over 8 years and it was the Avon School Corporation that prompted her family to move to the West side of Indianapolis. Brianna holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration. After a successful career in the Finance Industry for over 13 years, Brianna made the leap to pursue her passion in Education.
Currently Brianna works at the ACSC Administration Center as an Administrative Assistant to the Curriculum & Professional Development Department. Brianna has a unique prospective due to her experience in Marketing, Finance and now Education.
Brianna loves the mission of AEF and the way that the foundation supports ALL students in a variety of ways. Brianna has two children, one who currently attends Avon schools and one who will be starting Kindergarten soon.
Don Hodson
Treasurer
Board Member Since 2022
Don has been a lifetime resident of Hendricks County, having grown up in Plainfield and then graduated from Plainfield High School. He later graduated from Wabash College majoring in political science and speech. He married Rita, his wife of 29 years until her passing in 2013, and has lived in the Avon Community since 1984. He has three children, Nikki Ford, Nathan Ford and David Hodson and 6 grandkids. Because all of his children and five of his grandchildren have graduated from AHS (the youngest still attends Pine Tree) he has always been a strong supporter of Avon Schools.
Don served for twelve years as the Washington Township Trustee. He currently works for Hendricks Regional Health in the Strategy Department. Besides the AEF Board he is also a member of Avon Oriole Advocates. Beginning in 2023 he will be serving on the Hendricks County Election Board and the Hendricks County College Network Board. He is still an active supporter of Hendricks County Project Angel, which was his wife’s love and project for 25 years until her passing. Don has always believed the future of our nation and community rest in our youth and education is the key to that.
Kira Richardson
Secretary

Kira has worked in the field of public health for nearly a decade, and currently serves as the Vector-Borne and Zoonotic Disease Epidemiologist for the Indiana Department of Health. She is married to her husband Brian Richardson Jr. and together they have two children, Alexa and Aiden.
Kira has always centered uplifting and improving the lives of others at the core of what she does both in her professional and personal life. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and enjoys volunteering within the community.
Kira is determined to make the world a better place for her children and others to live and thrive. She is excited to join the AEF Board to further its mission to support creativity, innovation, and excellence within the Avon Community School Corporation.
Amy Maharas

Amy is a former Hickory Elementary teacher who is now a travel planner with Hi Ho Vacations. She has lived in Avon since she moved here with her husband and kids in 2007. Both kids attended Avon schools K-12. Amy has always been passionate about education and continues to volunteer at Hickory.
Monica Sloan
Board Member Since 2022
Monica has been an Avon resident since 2020. To be with family, she decided to move back to Indiana from Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for ten years. Monica has her Master’s degree in Elementary Reading & Math from Walden University and Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. She is currently a Kindergarten teacher with the ACSC.
Monica joined the AEF board to help continue their mission to support all students with her love of education and serving the community. She also volunteers with the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry, The Indianapolis Zoo for Zoo Boo, and her church.
In Monica’s free time she loves to spend time with family and friends, taking time for self-care, and traveling!
Alan Aguilar

Alan Aguilar is an Avon Alumni and graduated from Avon back in 2016. He has been a resident of Avon for over 20 years. Alan holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Studies. Currently works in the Finance Industry at PNC Bank as an Investment Advisor for Institutional clients.
Alan has spent most of his life in Avon and has seen the growth and development within the Avon School Community Corporation. He has come back to serve on the AEF board to give back to a corporation that has given him a multitude of opportunities. Alan believes in the mission of AEF and admires the way the foundation supports its students and teachers in a fashion unlike any other school corporation.
Rachelle Shuler
Board Member Since 2023
Rachelle grew up on the Westside, met her (now) husband (of 20+ years) and moved to Avon in 2000. She has three children, all of which have attended ACSC.
Rachelle has years of experience in the brokerage industry and working as an administrative assistant. She has been an active participant in various committees and events and currently is a stay-at-home mom (SAHM). Rachelle decided to join AEF not only because she believes in its mission but also to become more engaged with the Avon community, showcasing her passion for making a difference in the community and schools.
In her free time, Rachelle loves all things Peloton, spending time with friends and family, and traveling as much as possible. She is a foodie at heart.
